Iasist presents the results of the second year of the TOP 20 Hospitals programme.
In the group of 133 hospitals and clinics included in the evaluation process hospitals of all sizes and complexities were represented. Of these, 117 mostly attend National Health patients (88%) and 16 (12%) are essentially dedicated to private patients or those with private insurance cover. The first category accounts for 53% of the total number of hospitals treating National Health patients.
65% of the hospitals who were in the TOP last year remained in the TOP 20 this time.
Aspects most emphasised in this edition
Participation of private clinics and hospitals.
Although 26 private centres sent data, a total of 16 centres were finally included which had all the information necessary to participate.
Constitution of a Scientific Committee and an Advisory Committee.
The Scientific Committee is made up different academic authorities, clinics, etc. and an Advisory Committee made up of representatives of the different health services. The Scientific Committee acts as a consultative body on technical, methodological and scientific aspects of the project to gradually introduce improvements in this field.
The Advisory Committee's objective is to carry out the proposals that they consider necessary on important factors or aspects of health services not directly technical, but derived from the relative social value that they have, to guarantee equity of the methodologies used in this evaluation process.
