Adjusted Clinical Groups (ACG)

Wed, 04/30/2008 - 12:17 — Iasist

Patient Classification System (PCS) specially designed by Johns Hopkins University for Primary Care and Health Plans (Integrated management Areas)

Each Adjusted Clinical Group (ACG) classifies people into single, mutually exclusive, morbidity categories based on disease patterns and on the expected consumption of resources. ACGs can be used more successfully instead of traditional categories of age/sex to try to explain the variations in the morbidity rate between two or more patient populations.
