IASIST has launched its new EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT BENCHMARKING PROFILE (EDBP). This Profile is aimed at one of the hospital services most frequently used by the public and about which it is possible to obtain a great deal of information for management purposes.
Understanding the complexity of the patients treated in emergency departments will allow hospitals to plan actions aimed at rationalising demand and, from a service point of view, offering different levels of emergency care based on patient needs.
The EDBP is presented as an easy-to-use, drill-down report offering a range of information from a summary of global results to a more detailed analysis based on different aspects and type of demand. Using pre-coded diagnoses and triage registered, in the Emergency department information system (or database), demand, case mix, complexity, waiting times and other indicators are obtainable through the EDBP.
IASIST offers a specific solution based on each hospital's data, with the possibility of obtaining benchmark results where only triage or diagnosis information is available.
We are aware that in many hospitals the clinical coding of emergency cases has not been solved. Through a partnership agreement with ASHO, IASIST is able to offer an automatic coding service based on the diagnostic text available.
If your hospital would like to receive an EDBP Comparative Profile, or your Emergency Department cases are not coded and you would like information about automatic coding, please get in touch with us at the following email address: susanam@iasist.com or call +34 93-301-4061.
