Oncological Scorecard

Fri, 05/02/2008 - 09:50 — Iasist
Our specific focus for overall compared evaluation of oncology care, territory by territory and supplier by supplier. Locate and act on the differences in results observed against other territories.

The Oncological Scorecard is the solution designed by IASIST to evaluate easily and tidily the work done by the in-patients oncology activity in large hospital networks. The analysis includes a total of 20 oncological pathologies all treated individually.

Who is it aimed at?

The Oncological Scorecard has been developed thinking of health directors with responsibilities for monitoring the activity and hospital results from care for oncological pathologies.

Streamlined, solid and fully traceable

By means of easy and intuitive browsing, made easier by a presentation in HTML format, it provides an overall view of the care work by supplying relevant indicators compared which what is observed in your hospital network and nationally.

The results obtained are doubly traceable, given that it is possible to drop down to analysis of the macro-magnitudes observed (and in their differences from the national standard) for the whole territory (for example, an Autonomous Community) via two different lines:

  • a first line per pathology, where it will be possible to locate in which geographic sub-areas (for example, health regions) the deviations are concentrated for each specific pathology.
  • a second territorial line giving a complete snapshot of the results obtained in the different pathologies for a specific geographic area.

From either of these lines, the circle is closed with access to an individualised results file for each hospital and pathology.

Critical analysis phenomena

For each analysis level, whether this is the global analysis of the territory, a geographic sub-area or a specific hospital, a set of indicators is analysed for each of the pathologies, including:

  • Hospital-related incidence
  • Share of hospitalisations
  • Demographic characteristics
  • Care load
  • Percentage of surgical interventions for curing purposes
  • For these interventions:
    • Crude and risk-adjusted mortality
    • Crude and risk-adjusted complications
    • Reason for standard operation

Solid comparison patterns

Iasist databases assure a solid comparison compared against the most up to date Spanish reference patterns. It evaluates results from your hospital network compared to those observed in the whole national territory.
