APCOST - Primary Care Cost Analysis

Fri, 05/02/2008 - 09:50 — Iasist
Designed for entities with a good register of activity carried out for each patient, IASIST has developed an analysis framework which is easy to understand and communicate to find out the real costs of care, identify the deviations from the surrounding area and locating causal factors.

Specially designed for organisations managing several Primary Care Teams (PCT), Primary Care Cost Analysis is our specific solution for monitoring the efficiency in different PCT.

IASIST offers you a complete focus which compares a territorial reference with aspects such as the total cost of your PCT or the cost of different components such as pharmacy, image diagnosis, inter-consultations or lab requests, adjusting the expected populations at all times by means of the Adjusted Clinical Groups ACG(c).

Find out the overall efficiency of your Primary Care Teams

In a synthetic way, you can discover the differences between the total cost observed in your individual PCTs and the cost which might be expected once the different morbidity loads have been adjusted.

It locates the origins of cost deviations

It detects the cost components with greatest deviations from expectations and quantifies the impact of this deviation in the aggregated results for each PCT.

It differentiates the cost deviations which can be attributed to planning from those which can be attributed to clinical practice.

On occasions, the deviations observed in total cost have little to do with doctors' prescription practices and originate from an insufficient scale of inhabitants on which to distribute the fixed costs assumed by a determined PCT.

Find out the real situation which exists behind the distributions of costs for your PCT and act accordingly.

Who is it aimed at?

For directors and managers of administrative organisations for multiple Primary Care centres.
